standing up for democracy

Democracy won a major battle in the courts of South Australia when the unconstitutional anti-democratic draconian laws instituted by the Rann government were overturned by the Supreme Court, thereby validating everything supporters of democracy have been saying since day one of Atkinson's un-Australian "social experiment".

The State government are now busy licking their wounds while thinking how they can launch yet another attack against our hard fought for liberties.  The F.R.E.E AUSTRALIA PARTY remains committed to the cause of repealing these unjust laws and restoring the control of government back into the hands of the people.  To borrow a quote from our Attorney General, "we will fight the fight, and fight again" democracy, freedom of association, freedom of movement, are all too valuable to sacrifice on the altar of Rann's empty promises.

Enough money has been wasted by this government's fear mongering practices.  It is now time to focus on more important things like water, healthcare, aged care, mental health, a charter of rights, teacher's wages, rights of construction workers, low cost housing, etc.

The FREE AUSTRALIA PARTY will put the focus of governance back on serving the people, and will put the word "social" back into "justice" so that no longer will a state be in such a precarious position that the balance of power for whether democracy and freedom stands or falls is dependent on the decision of one man, such as occurred in the Supreme Court when a draconian law was voted down 2 - 1.  That is too close for comfort and is a further reason why a charter of rights must be implemented in this State.

In March 2010 Vote 1 for the FREE AUSTRALIA PARTY to restore governmental control back into your hands.
